Community Projects
In Social Studies, the students learned about maps, globes, graphs, geography, land formations, continents, oceans, and boundaries in the area of social studies.
Starting in the second part of the school year, the children will begin the unit on "COMMUNITIES". The children will learn about the three types of communities: rural, urban, and suburban. They will be able to compare and contrast each type of community.
As a conclusion to the unit the children will be making their very own mock community out of household supplies or materials. The children pick a building to create and bring into school. All projects will be on display in Deerfield Elementary. This is a project enjoyed by all, especially our very own Deerfield community!
Please be on the look out for more information that will sent home in regards to this project.
The creativity is entirely up to you and your child! It is a fun filled family project.
